Japanese Snowbell, Styrax japonica is a deciduous flowering tree that creates wonderful delicate twigs, among many other desirable bonsai characteristics. A common subject in Japanese shohin (under 8") shows, they are valued for their fine winter twigs.
In late spring and early summer Styrax form copious pendulous white and fragrant flowers, maturing when polinated to small inconspicuous fruits by fall.
