Arakawa Brown Ash-Splashed Cut-Cornered Rectangle

A soft inset corner lends a plush feeling to these rectangles. Made of a brown clay body and splashed with a bit of wood ash, then reduction fired. The finished clay surface is a lighter color than our other ash-splashed containers.

Offered in two sizes:

7" - interior about 6"x4" x 1.75x 1.6" deep

11" - interior about 10.25"x6" x 1.75" deep

Thomas Arakawa was born and raised in Japan, and came to the United States at the age of 19. For Thomas, the process of making pottery is affirmation of his Japanese heritage and American influences.
