Are you interested in growing your own bonsai trees, but don't want to start from scratch (e.g. seed or cutting)? We're releasing a limited number of 2-year-old Willow-Leaf Ficus from our grow operation, just for you! Aka Narrow-Leaf ficus and F. nerifolia is a tropical fig species commonly used for bonsai due to its small leaf and excellent growth characteristics.

These trees reliably create new branches at any cut point, making them very adaptable to train as bonsai. They also make impressive root displays, sometimes exceeding the size of an appropriate pot!

Native to Southeast Asia, they do well in hot and humid climates, but they must be protected from freezing temperatures, and really do best when kept above 50F.  You can grow them outdoors during warm months and indoors in a brightly lit location during cold weather, just don't let them freeze!

These starters are growing in 3.3" nursery containers, the trunks are still small enough to be bent and wired. The trees shown are representative and are not the exact plants you will receive. The bonsai in a ceramic container is an example of an older specimen.

Willow-Leaf Ficus

I received a beautiful starter plant. I could not have asked for a better plant. Bonsaify never disappoints!

Kinda unimpressive at first, however. . .

The little tree showed up not looking like anything great. However, I watched Eric’s YouTube video on this type of tree and then made a major chop and cut it basically in half. All the leaves gone. I wired the stick looking trunk, and gave it some great movement. Then held my breath it would come back to life. After a couple of weeks plenty of leaf buds popping up. I am so excited to see how this will grow. Now I have to get another. LOL
