Hard corners and straight sides makes these a formal feeling container. Made of a brown clay body and splashed with a bit of wood ash, then reduction fired. The finished clay surface is a lighter color than our other ash-splashed containers.
Offered in three sizes:
6" - interior about 5"x3.5" x 1.75" deep
10" - interior about 9"x6" x 1.75" deep
12" - interior about 11"x 7" x 1.75 deep
Thomas Arakawa was born and raised in Japan, and came to the United States at the age of 19. For Thomas, the process of making pottery is affirmation of his Japanese heritage and American influences.
