Spark a love for the Earth and language with this breathtaking collection of over 30 classic and contemporary nature poems from around the globe. Stunning scratchboard illustrations by Caldecott Medal winner Beth Krommes showcase landscapes from every continent. This book is published by Barefoot Books, whose mission is to share stories, connect families, and inspire children.

Compiled by Judith Nicholls, one of England's best-known children's poets. She is the writer and compiler of over fifty books of poetry, and her poems are broadcast regularly on BBC Radio for Schools and can be found in well over five hundred anthologies. She has also appeared on educational television shows, including "Three Poets in a Zoo" and "Words and Pictures." Judith is married with three children and six grandchildren and lives in Wiltshire, England.

Illustrated by Beth Krommes, who has loved art since her early childhood. She earned a BFA in painting from Syracuse University and an MAT in art education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Before she became a children's illustrator in 1989, Beth taught art in a public school, managed a fine handcraft shop and art directed a computer magazine. Beth creates her unique and beautiful artwork using scratchboard and watercolor. She then transfers the image to paper and adds watercolor. The result is highly detailed, richly textured and unforgettably beautiful. Beth lives in New Hampshire, USA, with her husband and two daughters.
